5 years agoDetroit Pistons power forward/center Christian Wood saw some increased run in his most recent outing due to the benching of Andre Drummond, but now has his status up in the air for Wednesday’s game versus the Boston Celtics due to knee soreness. Wood has become a vital cog off the bench for head coach Dwane Casey, especially in the wake of Blake Griffin’s decision to undergo knee surgery. Playing less than 22 minutes per game over his last seven contests, Wood has still managed to average 11.3 points and 6.7 boards on a nightly basis. Check back closer to tip-off to get word on his status as both Drummond and Sekou Doumbouya would likely benefit from a minutes increase should Wood be held out.--Jesse Borek
