Clay Holmes Shuts The Door For His 12th Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Clay Holmes pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays to earn his 12th save of the year. He retired each of the three batters he faced in the inning, recording one strikeout. Holmes had blown his last save opportunity on Monday, so it was nice to see him bounce back with a scoreless ninth. Aroldis Chapman (Achilles) appears to be about a week or two away from returning to the team. He'll complicate the ninth inning situation once he's back, but Holmes has done little to lose trust from the team. He has a 0.53 ERA and a 0.71 WHIP on the year. Both Holmes and Chapman are must-roster players in all fantasy leagues for now.
