Cleveland Expects To Have Roberto Perez Back Soon
4 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez has been shut down while dealing with shoulder fatigue, but Cleveland president Chris Antonetti indicated before Friday’s contest that the team hoped to have Perez back in the mix within the next few days. In the meantime, Sandy Leon and Austin Hedges figure to share duties behind the dish, with solid DFS upside. Despite his defensive acumen, Perez has struggled at the plate this year, slashing .167/.286/.250 through his first 16 games. After a 24-homer eruption last season, Perez remains on some fantasy managers’ radars, although the remaining schedule works against his case for being rostered.
