Cody Bellinger In Very Rare Company
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 9-5 victory against the New York Mets. He also had a pair of outfield assists, gunning down runners at third base and home plate. He is the first Dodgers players to post a homer and multiple outfield assists in a single game since Gary Sheffield in July 3, 1998. He is up to 19 homers with seven outfield assists through 52 games. The last player to reach those totals through 52 games in a season was Hall of Famer Babe Ruth in 1932.
