Cole Hamels Stumbles In Fourth Inning Against Astros Thursday
6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Cole Hamels struggled in the fourth inning against the Houston Astros on Thursday. Hamels gave up a two-run home run to Evan Gattis in a three-run inning. In total, Hamels gave up five earned runs in 7 1/3 innings, the second time he has given up five earned in his last three outings and the third time this season. However, Hamels is generally having a decent year with a 3.86 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 79 1/3 innings. Hamels is likely to be a trade piece for the Rangers this summer, at which point he should have more chance of obtaining wins. Additionally, Hamels has generally been more successful away from home in his time with the Rangers. Now may be a good time to try and buy low on Hamels, who should see a boost in value if he is traded this summer.
