Cubs Recall Adbert Alzolay For Saturday's Start
4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have recalled starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay for Saturday's versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Alzolay made two starts this season, but was sent down after his second start on April 14 with the Cubs having enough days off to use four men in their rotation until today. Alzolay has made both of his starts this season against the Brew Crew and has thrown 10 1/3 innings and has allowed seven hits, seven runs, three walks and struck out 10. The talented pitching prospect has plenty to like in his arsenal, but will need to show consistency to be rostered by fantasy managers, but he is likely to keep the fifth spot in the Cubs rotation for now. If everything comes together, Alzolay could pay off for those seeking pitching in deeper formats. He is a name to watch on Saturday. Relief pitcher Kyle Ryan will return to the Cubs alternative training site to open a roster spot for Alzolay.
