Dallas Keuchel Strikes Out 13 In Arizona Complex League Outing
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel had a fantastic start at the short-season Arizona Complex League on Monday. He pitched seven innings and allowed five hits, one walk and three runs (two earned) while striking out 13. It was his second start with the ACL D-backs after he surrendered four earned runs across five innings in his first start. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo stated on Tuesday that Luke Weaver would be shifting to the bullpen, which means that a rotation spot will be open this weekend. Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic speculated that Keuchel could be the favorite to join the rotation, making his first start with the team during this weekend's series against the Detroit Tigers. The 34-year-old was designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox about a month ago after he'd posted a 7.88 ERA and a 2.16 WHIP with the team. The Diamondbacks signed him to a minors deal a few weeks back.
