4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard now has his status up in the air for Friday’s game versus the Dallas Mavericks due to an illness. Lillard has missed just two contests this season and his absence will potentially pave the way for Portland to insert Anfernee Simons into the starting five, while also paving the way for C.J. McCollum to see an increased workload. Lillard dropped 28 points against Dallas during the first meeting between the two teams this season back on Oct. 27. His status should clear up prior to tip-off, but the timing of the announcement has definitely thrown his status into flux.--Jesse Borek
