D'Angelo Russell Dials Up Stellar 29-Point Showing
3 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell returned from a two-game absence to deliver a 29-point performance in Tuesday's Play-In Tournament victory over the Clippers. Russell ran the show for Minnesota, shooting an efficient 10-for-18 overall, while adding six assists, five rebounds, three made triples, and three steals. The scoring output marks his highest since Feb. 24, as he took on a larger offensive role with Karl-Anthony Towns battling foul trouble. Next up for the T-Wolves is Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs vs. Memphis, which plays right into Russell's hands after a tremendous four-game stretch against the Grizzlies in the regular season, which included an average of 31 points and 6.8 assists per game, all while shooting 55.8% overall and 46.3% from behind the arc.
