D'Angelo Russell Expected To Return Sunday
3 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell (shin) has been bumped up to probable for Sunday's contest against Detroit as he works his way back from a left shin contusion. Russell has been sidelined for Minnesota's last four outings, with numerous others taking on elevated ball-handling duties in his absence. Just prior to the injury, Russell was finding his best offensive rhythm of the season, shooting 49 percent overall and 39.8 percent from deep with six games of at least 22 points to boot during January. Jaden McDaniels will likely slide back to the second unit with Russell getting the green light, zapping him of his season-long appeal for the time being.
