D'Angelo Russell Has Status In Doubt For Sunday
5 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell (knee) was unable to suit up for practice Saturday, thus complicating his status ahead of Sunday’s meeting with the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves are already stretched thin due to the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns (wrist), which has forced Russell to carry an extended offensive workload, alongside newcomers Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez. An absence from Russell would likely pave the way for Jordan McLaughlin to enter the starting five and see a sizable role out of the backcourt. Due to the nature of Minnesota’s lineup construction with/without Russell in the mix, owners will want to make it a priority to check on his status prior to tip-off.
