D'Angelo Russell Sits Down Stretch In Victory
6 years agoBrooklyn Nets point/shooting guard D'Angelo Russell entered the night as his club’s active leading scorer on the season, but he sat the bench down the stretch during Wednesday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Russell logged just 22 minutes in total, finishing with 12 points and seven assists, while Spencer Dinwiddie took over at the point and went off for a career-high 39 points. This seems like head coach Kenny Atkinson just riding the hot hand, so don’t look too deeply into the one-time minutes downturn, as Russell will still be counted on to score in bunches for the Nets, continuing Friday versus Washington.
