2 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell has been rumored to be on the move for quite some time. Yet, trade rumblings have intensified since the Wolves hired Tim Connelly to serve as the president of basketball operations. Unquestionably, the Knicks have been targeting Jalen Brunson. Still, Russell could be considered a backup option if a deal with Brunson doesn't come to fruition. The 26-year-old finished the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 18.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting a miserable 34% from deep, the lowest mark of his career. While anything can happen regarding Russell's future in Minnesota, a chance of scenery could benefit him, even more so in New York, a team that's desperate for a consistent presence in the backcourt. However, he will have to stay healthy to be of any benefit to fantasy managers, something that's been an issue throughout his career.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
