Darvin Ham Challenging Russell Westbrook
2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook is expected to remain with the organization after months of trade rumors. The former MVP finished the 2021-22 campaign by averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists, a decline from the year before. As a result, he was scrutinized throughout the season, although new head coach Darvin Ham is looking to bring him back to an elite level. To accomplish this, Ham is challenging the veteran to elevate his play in October, especially on the defensive end. The 33-year-old averaged only 1.3 steals last season, and his 111.5 defensive rating was the worst of his career. Without a doubt, Westbrook's durability makes him an asset to fantasy managers. Yet, his shoddy shooting percentages must improve for those in category formats.
