3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates closer David Bednar put in extra work to record his 11th save of the year on Wednesday. He pitched the final 2 2/3 innings of Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing just one hit, one walk and no runs while striking out four. The Pirates had been on a nine-game losing streak prior to Wednesday's win, so Bednar hadn't been utilized as much as usual recently. He's recorded just two saves so far this month. The 27-year-old is now 11-for-12 on save opportunities this year with a 1.14 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
