4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta has been a stalwart of the club’s lineup since 2015. But in a key situation Thursday against the Dodgers, D-backs manager Torey Lovullo lifted Peralta for Ildemaro Vargas, a move that did not yield the desired results. The decision to pull Peralta’s powerful bat from the lineup comes just days after Lovullo swapped Peralta down in the order to pave the way for Kole Calhoun to move up to the No. 2 spot. To begin the 2020 year, Peralta has gone just 4-for-23 with zero barrels and a 31.6% Hard Hit rate, which would mark a career low. His spot in the starting lineup is likely assured for the foreseeable future, but his fantasy prospects may not be as high as they once were with Lovullo showed an increased aggression in an attempt to secure as many wins as possible.--Jesse Borek
