6 years agoTexas Rangers center fielder Delino DeShields (head, neck) made an appearance off the bench in the Rangers game in Baltimore on Friday. DeShields left the game Wednesday after falling awkwardly whilst avoiding a collision with Joey Gallo. Carlos Tocci started the game for the Rangers but he was replaced after Ryan Rua pinch hit for him in the seventh innings, hitting a home run. The fact that DeShields was able to come in and play the field is a positive sign for his recovery, and I expect DeShields to either be in the lineup Saturday or Sunday. However, do not be surprised if the Rangers are cautious with DeShields this weekend and allow him plenty of time to recover with the All-Star break next week.--Ben Rolfe
