6 years agoTexas Rangers center fielder Delino DeShields remains hitting ninth Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics. DeShields has now hit ninth for the last three games as he attempts to break out of a slump. Since May 7, DeShields is hitting .133 with 13 hits in 115 plate appearances. The good news for DeShields' fantasy owners is that he is still in the lineup, and his bat showed some signs of life Sunday against the Angels. DeShields is only still in the lineup because Carlos Tocci's bat is even colder. DeShields does have four steals in the last month, but if he cannot get on base more, his main attribute to fantasy owners is somewhat lost.--Ben Rolfe
