7 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles late in Friday's win over the Houston Rockets and will miss the rest of the season and the playoffs as a result. The injury happened as Cousins went to rebound a missed free throw, after which he landed awkwardly and went to the ground. A timetable of six to 10 months for recovery was given, putting Cousins' availability for the start of next season in jeopardy. It's a devastating loss for the Pelicans and the basketball community at large, as Cousins was having a great season and looked as if he was on his way to his first career playoff appearance.--Justin Carter - RotoBaller
