3 years agoWashington Wizards forward Deni Avdija (ankle) is no longer in a walking boot, an announcement he made during a recent appearance on a podcast. The rookie sustained a hairline fracture in his right ankle back at the end of April and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the year. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft averaged 6.3 points, 4.9 boards, and 1.2 assists throughout 54 games this season. However, he did have some flashes of efficiency and was also a routine member of the team's starting unit. He should be ready to go by training camp and could have a more prominent role moving ahead, especially if the team opts to part ways with superstars Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook at some point during the offseason.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
