7 years agoDallas Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. led the Mavs in scoring on Tuesday night. Smith took a team-high 18 shots in the loss to the Nuggets, sinking 11 of them to finish out the night with 25 points. He did have issues with ball control, turning it over four times throughout the contest. Smith has emerged as the No. 1 scoring option on a struggling Mavs team and has drastically improved since the beginning of the season, averaging six more points in January than he did back in October. He doesn't appear to be slowing down, either, and should remain the lead man even when guard Seth Curry (leg) returns to the lineup, whenever that may be.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
