Dennis Smith Jr. Posts New Career-High in Assists
7 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. recorded a double-double on Sunday against Houston with 16 points and a new career-high 11 assists. Smith had 10 assists in his NBA debut back in October, but he's averaged just five dimes during his rookie season, so it was great to see the ball movement by him. Maybe he should even focus more on that, as the 16 points came with another inefficient effort from the field (7-for-18, 38.9 percent), and he's shooting below 37 percent this month. It probably won't get better in the next game against the Kings, who have limited points guards to 20.9 points per 48 minutes this season.
