5 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Derrick Favors wasn't available much during the months of November and December due to injury. However, the Pelicans are the sixth-best defensive team since the All-Star break. Head coach Alvin Gentry said that "getting Derrick Favors back and him anchoring our defense was a real key." He also mentioned that Favors is one of the veteran leaders on the Pelicans. Favors is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, but it sounds like Gentry is hinting that he'd like to keep Favors around longer. Favors has been a reliable fantasy asset at times, but getting him healthy and on the court has been the issue. It's unclear when the NBA season is going to return, but it sounds like Favors could be in the Pelicans plans for the 2020-2021 season.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
