Derrick Rose Will Be Sidelined For At Least Eight Weeks
3 years agoNew York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose (ankle) underwent surgery on his right ankle Wednesday, with the team announcing that he will next be reevaluated in eight weeks. Rose had missed New York's two previous games due to the ailment, having recently entered the starting five. The absence of Rose deals a significant blow to the Knicks' backcourt rotation, although veteran Kemba Walker can now be seen as a potential waiver wire acquisition in most formats as the team combats additional injuries and the league's health and safety protocols. Injuries have long stunted Rose's professional progress, as he has averaged 12 points, four assists, and three rebounds across 26 contests this year. He can be dropped in most season-long formats, as a second-half return to action makes him a difficult hold barring numerous IR slots.
