Derrick White Continues Hot Stretch With 18-Point Effort
6 years agoSan Antonio Spurs point/shooting guard Derrick White continued to find his groove within the team’s offense during Monday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets. White finished with 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting, adding four rebounds and a team-high seven assists. Make that nine of the last 10 games in which White has finished in double figures, undoubtedly seeing a bump in role with Rudy Gay (wrist) sidelined. The Spurs seem confident in White as a starting member of their backcourt moving forward, and if you eliminate White’s 12 contests this season as a reserve in which he averaged 4.8 points per game, he’d be sitting at 10.7 PPG on the year. He’s likely worth the add in many formats.
