Detroit Acquires Trevor Ariza, No. 16 Pick In 2020 Draft
4 years agoThe Detroit Pistons have acquired veteran forward Trevor Ariza and the No. 16 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft from Houston in exchange for a future first-round selection. Ariza had just been acquired by the Rockets from the Trail Blazers earlier in the week in a deal that sent Robert Covington out west, with the latest deal denying the well-traveled wing a chance at reuniting with a Houston group he played for from 2014-18. Ariza's move to Detroit increases his fantasy prospects for the '20-21 season, as he should see considerable time at the small forward position. Upon joining Portland at the end of last year, he averaged 11 points and 4.8 rebounds across 33.4 minutes per contest, all while shooting 40 percent from long range. The move also frees up Houston to use a mid-level exception in free agency over the coming weeks. Check back to see who Detroit adds with their new draft selection.
