6 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman's (knee) injury status is somewhat confused heading into the Week 3 game at home against the New Orleans Saints. Freeman suffered the injury in Week 1 and was reported as being out for at least 2-3 weeks by Adam Schefter. However, Dan Quinn refuted that claim Wednesday, saying that report did not come from the team and they are considering Freeman day-to-day. That may be true or it may just be a bluff to ensure the Saints spend time thinking about Freeman prior to the Week 3 game. Given how good Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith looked in Week 2 it is hard to imagine the Falcons rushing Freeman back. Right now I expect Freeman to miss Sunday's game, but even if he were to be active the uncertainty over his touches would likely make him a player to sit anyway.--Ben Rolfe
