Deyonta Davis Records First Double-Double
7 years agoMemphis Grizzlies center Deyonta Davis played his second game with 20-plus minutes on Wednesday and was one of just a few who didn't embarrass themselves against the Sixers, as he recorded the first double-double of his career. The second-year player from Michigan State had 16 points on 8-for-14 shooting and grabbed 11 boards in 21 minutes off the bench. Marc Gasol (rest) is already ruled out for Thursday's matchup with Charlotte, so Davis is looking at another extended run, likely as a starter. However, Dwight Howard posted a 32-point, 30-rebound game on Wednesday against another young center Jarrett Allen, so it's not the easiest of matchups for Davis.
