2 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Newly-acquired outfielder Andrew Benintendi will be hitting leadoff for the game. LeMahieu has been the team's primary leadoff hitter this year. He hasn't done much to lose that highly-coveted batting order spot as he's slashed .281/.386/.408 over 90 games this season. The Yankees are likely to do some tinkering with their lineup in the coming weeks now that Benintendi is in town. LeMahieu should continue to have a prime batting position more often than not even if he frequently winds up out of the leadoff spot.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
