Donovan Mitchell Collects Team-High 36 Points In Defeat

4 years agoUtah Jazz point/shooting guard Donovan Mitchell continued his recent scoring barrage by dropping 36 points during Monday’s loss to the Houston Rockets. Mitchell shot 14-for-25 from the field overall, including 3-for-10 from long range. After a slow start to January by his high-octane scoring standards, Mitchell has reeled off 28.9 points per contest over his last seven outings and has led his team in scoring in each of the last four games. He padded his stat line by adding four assists, three rebounds and three steals. Offensively, he is firing on all cylinders ahead of Wednesday’s matchup with the Spurs, whom he has averaged 26 points per game against for his career, the second most of any opponent in the league.--Jesse Borek
