Donovan Mitchell Pours In 38 Points During Defeat
6 years agoUtah Jazz point/shooting guard Donovan Mitchell was tabbed as the starting point guard out of necessity during Friday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies and he responded by dropping 38 points. With the trio of Ricky Rubio, Dante Exum and Raul Neto all sidelined, Mitchell became the de facto point guard, even if he did finish 12-for-24 from the field overall, including 5-for-9 from deep. Mitchell has been percolating offensively over the last few months, having gotten off to a roaring start in his first four March contest to the tune of 31.3 points per game. His usage skyrocketed Friday even against a stout Memphis defensive unit, and should the Jazz remain short-handed in the backcourt, Mitchell will only increase in value.
