Doug McDermott Drops Team-High 25 Points
3 years agoSan Antonio Spurs small/power forward Doug McDermott had it working from long range during Saturday's defeat to the Bucks, shooting 7-for-11 from behind the arc en route to a 25-point showing. After combining to attempt just seven threes over his first two games as a starter with the Spurs, McDermott appeared much more comfortable his third time out. That McDermott got looks from deep with little resistance isn't entirely surprising -- Milwaukee allowed the third-most three-point field-goal attempts per game (38.6) last season. While he remains primarily a season-long categories league commodity due to his dependence on the three ball, McDermott's role in the starting five gives him some short-term appeal early in the season.
