7 years agoDallas Mavericks small forward Doug McDermott got the start on Sunday against Houston with Dirk Nowitzki (ankle), Wesley Matthews (back) and J.J. Barea (rest) all out, but he failed to impress, scoring only eight points in 34 minutes. McDermott shot 2-for-6 from downtown and 3-for-9 overall. He added four assists and three rebounds to his tally in the 104-97 road loss. McDermott will likely see his minutes cut down again the next time around with the injury to Nowitzki not expected to be anything serious. However, Dallas has another back-to-back set next weekend, so McDermott could see some good minutes there again.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
