3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs placed left-handed pitcher Drew Smyly on the bereavement list on Tuesday. Right-handed pitcher Robert Gsellman was called up in a corresponding move. Smyly was originally slated to start Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox, but the team will now go with a bullpen game instead with right-hander Scott Effross getting things started. Smyly is off to a nice start to the season with a 2.79 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP over four starts.
