Drew Steckenrider Locks Up Seventh Save
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Drew Steckenrider earned his seventh save of the year Sunday against the Kansas City Royals, entering with a 4-3 lead and setting down all three Royals he faced. He did not strike out a batter. Steckenrider, while having an outstanding year with a 1.84 ERA and 0.97 WHIP, is second in the pecking order for saves in the Mariners pen. However, manager Scott Servais has deployed Paul Sewald in the highest leverage innings, as was the case in this game, leaving some opportunities for Steckenrider. Fantasy managers desperate for saves can look to him, but otherwise he's only rosterable in leagues that reward holds.
