Drew Steckenrider Picks Up Fifth Relief Win
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Drew Steckenrider pitched the ninth inning Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays, earning his fifth win of the season when Seattle walked it off in the bottom of the ninth on a Jarred Kelenic walk. Steckenrider allowed two hits and a walk, but managed to keep anyone from crossing the plate. He entered the game after the supposed closer Diego Castillo, and it appears as though Steckenrider and Paul Sewald are the primary options for saves going forward. Steckenrider has four in seven opportunities on the year, and could be an option in the deepest fantasy leagues.
