Drew Steckenrider Strikes Out Side In Save
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Drew Steckenrider got the save chance Friday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and he could not have performed better, striking out all three batters he faced. Steckenrider now has eight saves for the year, and seems to be locked in as the clear next man up after Paul Sewald. It could be argued that Steckenrider is having the better year with his 1.70 ERA and 0.98 WHIP, though his 52 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings are below average for a reliever. Steckenrider is worth a roster spot in holds leagues, and could step up should Sewald falter.
