Dustin Johnson Loses World No. 1 Ranking
7 years agoWith a T17 finish at the Players Championship, Dustin Johnson's 15-month reign as world No. 1 came to an end at the hands of Justin Thomas. Johnson needed to finish inside the top 11 to comfortably hold on to the top spot, but a final-round 72 on a day most players shot under par dropped him back. Johnson will skip this week's AT&T Byron Nelson and will likely next play at the Memorial Tournament, where he will have a chance to retake the No. 1 spot.
