6 years agoComing off a dominant win at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, Dustin Johnson appeared primed to take home his second career major at the U.S. Open after opening with rounds of 69 and 67 to take a four-shot lead into the weekend. However, a Saturday 77 on a brutal day at Shinnecock Hills -- which included 38 putts -- and a final-round 70 that saw him three-putt three times, left him two shots back of playing partner and winner Brooks Koepka. Johnson appeared to take the loss hard, as he left the course after signing his scorecard without acknowledging fans or talking to the media. Johnson is still one of the most talented players in the world, and despite another missed opportunity at a major, it seems likely he will have plenty more chances.--cmangano
