Dwight Howard Ends Double-Double Streak
7 years agoCharlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard ended a 12-game double-double streak in a loss to Denver on Monday. Howard racked up 19 points, going 9-for-11 from the field, but finished with only seven rebounds. Howard has been looking like a man possessed over the last month, ranking as a top-15 player averaging 16.6 points and 14.3 rebounds with 3.0 blocks over the last 30 days. The Charlotte Hornets have been linked to numerous trade rumors and its hard not to believe a playoff contender lacking size wouldn't want to add Howard having a resurgent year to its roster. For the season, Howard is averaging 15.9 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. He has been a late-round steal and barring injury should finish the season as one of the bigger surprises. Charlotte travels to Portland on Thursday, Howard should have another double-double if he's still playing in the teal and purple.
