Dwight Howard Picks Up 48th Double-Double On Saturday
7 years agoCharlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard recorded his fifth consecutive and the 48th double-double of the season on Saturday, scoring 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a 107-93 loss to the Wizards. Howard, who bizarrely had been a perfect 10-for-10 in the last two games from the free throw line, finished with 4-for-11 from the charity stripe and shot 9-for-15 from the floor. He logged 31 minutes in what was the team's first game since officially being eliminated from playoff contention, which was a good sign, but Howard's playing time could be limited going forward and he might even sit out a few of the last five games, with Willy Hernangomez turning into a hot pickup. He had 11 points and nine boards in 17 minutes on Saturday.
