Edmond Sumner Signs Deal To Join Nets
2 years agoPoint/shooting guard Edmond Sumner has reportedly inked a deal to rejoin the Brooklyn Nets, per Adrian Wojnarowski. Brooklyn acquired the 26-year-old guard in an October 2021 trade, just to waive him four days later; now, fully recovered from a torn left Achilles tendon that kept him sidelined all of last year, Sumner joins the Nets' backcourt mix. In 29 career starts over four seasons with the Pacers, Sumner averaged 9.4 PPG and shot 49.8% from the floor overall. His fantasy upside is directly tied to the status of Kyrie Irving -- should Irving stay, Sumner is likely a depth piece; should Irving depart, Sumner could garner sizable minutes as the season carries on.
