4 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz came on in the ninth inning of Saturday's game, looking to preserve a one-run lead and convert his second save in as many days. Unfortunately, he gave up a Marcell Ozuna home run that tied the game. Diaz was tagged with his first blown save of the year and the Mets went on to lose 5-3 in 10 innings. Ozuna's home run was the only hit surrendered by Diaz in the ninth inning of Saturday's game. Through two innings this year, Diaz has continued his prolific bat-missing ways, striking out four batters. Hopefully, he can stray away from the home runs that plagued him last year, though Saturday's showing certainly isn't encouraging.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
