6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton ended up with 20 points over 36 minutes in Tuesday's 116-109 win against the Los Angeles Clippers. He was hot from the floor, connecting on 7-for-11 from the field, and he chipped in with six rebounds, six assists and three steals with just two turnovers and a plus-11 rating. Payton has scored at least 10 points with at least six rebounds and six assists in each of his first three games with the Pels so far. It looks like the former Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajun is feeling right at home in his home state and it's shining through in his play.--Daniel Dobish
