7 years agoOrlando Magic point guard Elfrid Payton went 3-for-7 for eight points in a loss to Dallas on Tuesday. The point total snaps a three-game stretch where Payton scored 14 points or more. Payton seemed to be in a groove in the new year, averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals. Along with his eight points Tuesday, Payton managed just two rebounds and four assists. He was also outclassed by his backup, D.J. Augustin. The Magic are in a tailspin, owning the second worst record in the NBA. Payton's days in Orlando might be numbered. It might be worth looking at trade options for the point guard producing well below preseason expectations.--Wai Sallas
