5 years agoNew York Knicks point guard Elfrid Payton was all over the stat sheet during Wednesday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, finishing with 15 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in his 35 minutes. But he was ejected before the conclusion of the contest following a spat with Grizzlies forward Jae Crowder, which could serve as a detriment to Payton’s prospects Saturday against Indiana. The Knicks have all but turned the reins at the point guard spot over to Payton in the last month, as he has dished out an average of 8.8 assists over his last eight games. Owners will want to check back to confirm his status for Saturday, as he will have a difficult matchup against a stout Pacers defensive unit even if he is cleared to suit up.--Jesse Borek
