6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton played just eight minutes in his return after a nine-game absence during Friday’s game against the New York Knicks. Payton was forced to the bench with a fractured left small finger, finishing the game scoreless on three shot attempts with one rebound and one steal. Payton’s status for Friday was in doubt right up until tip-off due to a right ankle sprain, and with the timing of a new injury so soon after his previous one, owners can view New Orleans in nearly the same terms as they did at the start of the day.--Jesse Borek
