Elfrid Payton Ties Season High With Five Steals
5 years agoNew York Knicks point guard Elfrid Payton has taken the team’s starting point guard job and doesn’t appear to be relinquishing it anytime soon following another night of a stuffed stat sheet during Friday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Payton collected 15 points on 7-for-17 shooting, including seven assists, six rebounds and a season-high-tying five steals. He had entered the game with four steals combined over his past seven outings, as his average per contest this year now sits at 1.5, which would be his highest mark since his rookie year. His role among the starting five for New York has earned him season-long fantasy consideration in the vast majority of formats.
