6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton will sit out Tuesday’s contest versus the Orlando Magic due to a right ankle sprain, and it doesn’t appear he’ll be suiting up again before the All-Star break. Tuesday’s absence will be Payton’s eighth straight, with just one more contest remaining (Thursday) before he could have an additional week of rest to recover. Frank Jackson has been the biggest beneficiary of Payton’s absence and the rookie figures to remain in the starting five while Payton is out.--Jesse Borek
