Eric Thames Should Make Final Rehab Start Sunday
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Eric Thames (thumb) should make the final start of his rehab assignment at Triple-A on Sunday. Thames will play the outfield and if all goes well he should rejoin the Brewers Monday, and be active for the Chicago Cubs series. Prior to hitting the disabled list, Thames had a .250 batting average with seven home runs and two steals in 74 plate appearances. Thames will return to a crowded situation in Milwaukee, with Jesus Aguilar having made a strong claim for the first base job in his absence. Thames will be a useful player in daily lineup lock leagues, but in weekly formats he could be extremely frustrating initially once he returns.
